Abstract
In the practices of otorhinolaryngology, idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSNHL) is considered to be an otological emergency. Unfortunately there is no standard protocol to treat patients with ISSNHL. Systematic glucocorticoid is the most commonly used treatment for ISSNHL. The intratympanic (IT) steroid injection technique was introduced to decrease the side effects of the usage of systematic steroid and assuming a higher concentration of corticosteroids into the affected cochlea. In this study over 15 month's periods, we evaluated the hearing outcome of the systematic corticosteroids theraphy (SCT) and high dose intratympanic (IT) methylprednisolone (62.5mg/mL) as a salvage therapy among the ISSNHL.
