Abstract

Transvaginal ultrasound (TVU) was carried out to determine women's perception regarding the examination. Women who attending the obstetrics and gynecology clinics at KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital were asked to answer two sets of questionnaire. The respondents who had a related scan to endovaginal ultrasound examination, total of 121 respondents were included to answer the questionnaire. In order to assess patients willingness to undergo the transvaginal examination in future then, One-Way ANOVAs were used. Chi-square was used to assess pain score according to group of age. There were 17.4% reported "very pain", 42.2% reported "mild pain" while 33.1% reported "no pain". Of the patients, who had transvaginal examination were feel uncomfortable with the prior examination was related to patient age group, where less uncomfortable with the increasing of age. It has been shown that, most of the patients were willing to undergo the future transvaginal ultrasound examination if it is recommended by their doctor.
